This message is sent on behalf of the Co-Chairs of the AFICS/NY Communications Committee.

Dear AFICS/NY Members worldwide,

We are pleased to announce that the AFICS/NY Communications Committee is launching its call for contributions to the Winter 2026/27 Bulletin.

We are writing to request your contributions of brief stories, achievements, and news in your lives that you feel will be of interest to your fellow members. In addition to updating you on how AFICS/NY is working on your behalf through its various committees, this edition of our Bulletin will look at the current healthcare environment and ASHI, as well as the appointment of the new Secretary-General.

Feel free to include reflections on either of these two topics, including your experiences following departure from the Organization, whether through the UN80 reforms, early separation, or other circumstances.  You may also wish to include thoughts on the transition to life after the UN, experiences with health insurance after service, or navigating new visa requirements for G-4 visa holders.

We also enjoy reading about what colleagues are doing after leaving the UN - whether starting a new career, pursuing further studies, teaching, volunteering, travelling, or embarking on other new ventures.

Each contribution will be reviewed by our editorial team for possible inclusion in our Bulletin, taking into account its length and the range of submissions received.

As a guide, kindly :

1. Keep your contributions to a maximum of one page (up to 600 words).

2. Identify who you are (how you would like your name to appear in the by-line) and include a photo of yourself.

3. Describe the news you wish to share.

4. Include any relevant links or photos (e.g., you published a book, wrote an article, organized an event, have family or location photos, etc.) with relevant photo credits. Please ensure photos or citations from public sources are correctly attributed and that you have permission to reprint.

Kindly submit your contributions by 20 November 2026 with the subject line AFICS/NY Bulletin Call for Contributions to afics@un.org

We thank you for your interest and look forward to staying in touch.

With kind regards

Andy Nye and Gail Bindley-Taylor

Co-Chairs, AFICS/NY Communications Committee
