It is with deep sorrow that we remember and honour the life of Sandra Haji-Ahmed, a distinguished colleague, friend, mentor, and coach. She passed away peacefully on 26 February 2025 after an illness.

With over 30 years of experience, Ms. Haji-Ahmed held pivotal roles at the United Nations and UNICEF, where she guided diverse teams and shaped global policies in talent management and organizational development.

She retired from the UN Secretariat in 2011 as Director of Learning and Development in the Office of Human Resources Management. In her retirement, she continued her lifelong passion for education, mentoring, and leadership by working as an adjunct professor, consultant, and professional coach.

Beyond her professional achievements, Haji-Ahmed will be remembered most for her warmth, insight, and infectious joy. She always had a big smile and was full of laughter, bringing light and positivity to every space she entered. Her ability to uplift others—whether through her wisdom, encouragement, or humour—left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her unwavering belief in human potential, the power of collaboration, continuous learning, and thoughtful leadership will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She is survived by one son and her husband. Sandra Haji-Ahmed’s full memorial service will be held on Saturday, 15 March 2025, 1pm-3pm in Bronxville Women's Club, 135 Midland Ave, Bronxville, NY 10708.
